Opensea IPO: a response from Element’s Operation Team
We have seen OpenSea recently announced that they want to do IPO, even though the CFO had denied today, lots of investors constantly discuss this topic in Element community.
Here is a brief response in four points.
1. Opensea will become the “Coinbase” in NFT market after its IPO, which will surely promote NFT more mainstream and reach another milestone in the crypto economy. However, we believe that the crypto economy is a new world, and it is difficult to see the new world in all its future splendor if Opensea follows the traditional thinking of internet products and financial markets.
2. Element has learned a lot from Opensea. In terms of data processing for tens of millions of NFT pieces, Element originates from the synchronized NFT processing and transaction information on the blockchain and is compatible with the trading habits of Opensea traders. Not only that, traders can create NFTs on the Element platform, sell and pending orders, view transaction records, discover NFT pieces. In addition, we have launched App that is synchronized with the Web data. So we have the ability and confidence to do even better.
3. The door to the NFT market has just opened, but it is still in the early stages of startups. We believe that active trading outside of the ethereum is just beginning, the market evolution of NFT from PFP to Gamefi and even to utility NFT is a new beginning too. Moreover, some projects in specialized categories such as social, music, sports, video are also starting up. We think that the market options will gradually diversify and that Opensea’s 97% market share alone will not last long.
4. Element becomes a true Web 3.0 project with a lot of hands-on exploration, here including the crypto-economic technology route, the combination with DeFi, the DAO governance. Although it will take some time, this is the direction we are heading.
